How Safe is Online Counseling?
CCCS is committed to protecting your online privacy. This page provides you with information about how we collect your information, how we store your information, and what we do with your information.To keep your payment information secure, we do not store your banking information on our server.

What data do you collect about me?
When you sign up for services or for one of our classes, the information you enter is stored in a database on our secure server. You're under no obligation to provide this information; however, if you choose to withhold the information we request, we may be unable to provide you with the credit counseling services you desire. Also, note that some information gathered during the process of signing up is required before you can leave a page and move to the next one.

How do you use my information?
CCCS will use your information for the following purposes and only for the following purposes:

  • provide you with credit counseling online
  • improve the content and usability of our web site
  • develop and revise your Action Plan
  • identify you as a visitor to our web site for statistical purposes
  • send you information about new products and services we develop

Who do you share my information with?
If a Debt Management Program is recommended for you and you agree to go on the Debt Management Program, your financial and personal information will be shared with the company that services our Debt Management Program.

When you make a payment for services on our web site, the payment information is processed by Cardservice International, one of the largest electronic payment processors in the USA. None of your debt or financial information is shared with Cardservice International.

CCCS prepares yearly reports to funding agencies that contain aggregate statistics about our clients and visitors to our web site. Under no circumstances do we reveal personal information to these funding agencies that might be used to identify one of our clients.

The CCCS web site contains links to other web sites that are provided to you as a service because they contain information that may of interest to you regarding personal finances, bankruptcy, credit reports, etc. CCCS is not responsble for the privacy policies or the content of these other sites.

How secure is your website
CCCS takes the security of your online access, financial transactions, and credit and debt information seriously. Information is shared with individuals inside the CCCS organization on a "need to know" basis, and security measures are in place at our agency to protect your information against loss, misuse, alteration, and theft. Although we can't ensure that loss, misuse, alteration, or theft will not take place, we will make our best efforts to prevent these things happening.

Your data is stored on a server which is protected by a hardware firewall and a variety of software security measures, including intrusion and virus detection. The security of this server is monitored on a regular basis by our IT professionals, and logs are kept of internal and external attempts to compromise its security. The data is regularly backed up and we have a disaster recovery plan in place to restore your data if a human or natural agent compromises the integrity of our server. Our servers are kept in a locked server room with limited access.

We use 128 bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption to protect your personal and credit card information; when you log in to the web site, transmission of your personal data to and from our web site is protected by SSL encryption.

We use cookies to track certain information about you. These are pieces of information that our web site transfers to your hard drive. They allow us, for example, to "remember" where a client was in the intake process and display the correct web page to the client. Since cookies are specific to the server that created them and can't be accessed by other servers, they don't personally identify you or your credit information (these are stored in our data base on our server rather than in cookies). You may be able to turn off cookies in your web browser, but if you do so you may not be able to take advantage of all the features of our web site.
